Fitness Tip of the Week- Drink Ice Cold Water to Lose WeightWater is vital to the function of all bodily systems. In fact, without the proper intake of water, it is very difficult to lose weight. The recommended daily intake of water is six to eight 8-ounce glasses of water (64 to 80 oz.). Surpisingly, the colder the water the better for weight loss. If you drink the recommended minimum of 64 ounces a day of water at 32 degrees F, your body will expend an extra 70 calories just to warm that water up to body temperature. This may seem like a small amount, but over a year this adds up to approximately 7 pounds of body fat. So go ahead and cool off this summer with plenty of ice cold water and shed that body fat!
